We would like to introduce you therefore to Linda Penn, who is going to be raising money for The British Polio Fellowship by completing a 380 mile bike ride in the name of Post Polio Syndrome. Linda will be travelling across Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia (from Bangkok to Saigon and the incredible Cu Chi tunnels) and is attempting to raise at least £600 pounds for British Polio.
You can donate now on Linda’s JustGiving page
The British Polio Fellowship is a charity that has been present in Linda’s life for many years and is one that is close to her heart. Linda’s mother had Polio as a child, and is now living with Post Polio Syndrome (PPS). Linda’s mother has been a member of British Polio for many years now and has started to rely on the charity for support.
Linda Penn, said “I have found now that I have started raising awareness of Post Polio Syndrome, a lot of people have got in touch and said a family member of theirs has PPS and even people I know have been affected by PPS one way or another; it seems to have really touched people. The support I am getting is really amazing, and we are hoping to raise more money than the initial target we have set.”
Linda will be writing daily blog posts to keep us updated on her travels, including how far she’s cycled per day; who she’s met; where she’s going tomorrow and all things in-between. We’ll keep you up to date on Linda’s progress here on the British Polio Website
All donations will help and all the monies will go directly to The British Polio Fellowship to help and support those living with PPS and ensuring they can live independent lives. A massive thank you Linda from all at British Polio, and best of luck with your Indochina challenge!
