Barbara Wood joined The Fellowship in the early 1960s and has been an active member of the Merseyside Branch. Barbara, now in her 80s, has given all her life to serving the community and providing personal support to many disabled people. In recognition of her immense contribution, Barbara’s friends in Liverpool, together with The Fellowship Central Office, have created the Barbara Wood Citizenship Award. The Award will be given annually and funds have been raised to ensure the Award for the next 10 years.
We are now accepting nominations for 2013, and nominations are open to:
A person who has had Polio and who has made a significant contrubution to the wellbeing of others in their local community, and that this contribution should extend beyond assissting other people with Polio;
A person who has not had Polio and who has made a significant contribution to the wellbeing of others in their local community who have had Polio.

Nominations must reach us by no later than 14 June 2013. The winner will be announced and presented with the Award at the 2013 Annual General Meeting in September.
