British Polio Fellowship receives support from Hospital Saturday Fund

On Wednesday 20 May the Hospital Saturday Fund held its 2026 Annual General Meeting and Charity Reception which was held at the iconic Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London.

The evening was filled with inspiration, including a memorable address from their guest speaker, British retired javelin thrower, Fatima Whitbread MBE. The event was a real celebration of yet another impactful year of supporting charities across the UK.

The British Polio Fellowship (BPF) was delighted to be a recipient of one of these grants which will be wholly used to support the polio community in the UK. We are very grateful for the support offered by grant-makers like the Hospital Saturday Fund, who help the BPF and other charities to provide vital services.

Kripen Dhrona, Chief Executive attended the event (pictured) and was presented with a cheque for £4,000 by the charity’s Chief Executive Paul Jackson, Fatima Whitbread and Patron Lesley Garrett.

” We are very pleased and deeply grateful to receive this generous grant from the Hospital Saturday Fund. It will support the continued development of the Optimal Clinical Pathway for Polio Survivors and will make a meaningful difference to the care and symptom management of people living with the late effects of polio and post-polio syndrome” he said.

The Hospital Saturday Fund is a UK charity that provides grants and financial support for medical costs, health equipment, and wellbeing services, while also helping community and healthcare projects.
