1. The BPF Bulletin (Quarterly Magazine)
Our flagship magazine includes news, real-life stories, updates on polio, disability rights, upcoming events, and more. All members receive a digital version of each issue through the online membership area.
If you’d prefer a physical copy by post, we ask for a minimum donation of £5 to help cover production and postage costs.
2. Telephone and Email Advice and Support
Our dedicated Support Services team is here to help with all aspects of living with polio or post-polio syndrome. Whether you’re facing practical challenges or need advice navigating the benefits system, they offer expert, compassionate support tailored to your situation.
They can help with:
- Completing and appealing PIP, ESA, Attendance Allowance, and other benefit applications
- Accessing local disability services such as Blue Badges, home adaptations, or mobility support
- Guidance on schemes like Motability and accessible transport
- Information and support around post-polio syndrome and referrals to appropriate consultants
- Applying for BPF grants including heating, holiday, and welfare support
- Questions around orthotics, accessible holidays, or consumer issues
- Supporting you through complaints or disputes related to disability

3. Access to Grants
Members can apply for a range of financial support, including:
- Holiday Grants
- Welfare Grants
- Energy Support Grants (means-tested)
- Various other ad hoc grants depending on need and available funding
Applications are guided by our team and based on eligibility and available resources.
